Abstract
The study aimed to determine the best effect and dose of organic fertilizers on the growth and production of sweet corn crops (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) on yellow red podsolic land. This research has been carried out on farmers' land located in Adam Manis street, Sukarela street, RW 04 Kebun Bunga Village, Sukarami Subdistrict, Palembang City, South Sumatra. The study was conducted from July to September 2021. This study used a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 5 treatments and replications 5. Treatment factors us: Type of Organic Fertilizer (P), namely P0 = Control, P1 = Chicken Manure, P2 = Organic Fertilizer Plus Lubricating Oil, P3 = Rice Straw Compost Fertilizer, P4 = Blotong Fertilizer. Observational variables in this study included height of plant (cm), number of leaves (strands), length of cob (cm), diameter of cob (cm), weight of cob per plant (g) and weight of cob per plot (kg). The results of diversity showed that the treatment of chicken manure 20 tons / ha provided the best influence on the growth and production of sweet corn plants weighing 3.42 kg / plot or equivalent to 6.84 tons / ha.
