Abstract

The title of this thesis was “The Effectiveness of Peer Feedback Technique to Improve Students’ Writing Descriptive Text at the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Saleh”. The problem of this research “was there any effectiveness of peer feedback technique to improve students’ writing descriptive text at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Saleh?”. The objectives of the research was to find out whether or not there was effectiveness of peer feedback technique to improve students writing descriptive text at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Saleh. The researcher used pre-experimental design in the form one- group for pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Saleh in academic years of 2021/2022. The sample of this research was X.IPA 1 class that consisted 36 students, it was chosen through the purposive sampling. The data were collected through written test was the form of essay test. The researcher analyzed the data trough paired sample t- test based on the result of the pre-test and post-test. Based on calculation above, it was found that t-obtained was 43.350. while t-table was 1.690. Since the velue of t-obtained was higher than t-table, so that Ho (null hypothesis) was rejected, and Ha (alternative hypothesis) was accepted. It could be concluded that there was effective of peer feedback technique to improve students’ writing descriptive text at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Air Saleh.
