Abstract

Around Pasar Tebing Tinggi, Empat Lawang Regency, is a Sumatran cross road that connects provinces, regencies and cities. On this road there are a lot of vehicles that pass so that it is not uncommon for traffic jams and conflicts to occur. By analyzing the causes of traffic congestion and to analyze the optimal service level capacity so that it is hoped that there will be no congestion on the Pasar Tebing Tinggi road, Empat Lawang Regency. This study aims to determine the cause of traffic jams on the Sumatran Central Cross road (Pasar Tebing Tinggi) Empat Lawang Regency. The cause of congestion that occurs on Pasar Tebing Tinggi road is because there are street vendors selling on the road, public transportation, ojek taxis that carry, drop passengers and wait for passengers (ngetem) on the road, causing vehicle delays, The existence of vehicles parked on the body road so as to disrupt the flow of traffic.
