Abstract

ABSTRACT Nurcahyati / 222017032 / 2021 / Analysis of the Differences in Accounting Students' Perceptions of the Code of Ethics of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (Empirical Study at the Faculty of Economics and Business Muhammadiyah University of Palembang)   The formulation of the problem in this study is 1) Is the perception of accounting students who are male different from the perception of accounting students who are female to the Indonesian accountant association code of ethics, 2) Is the perception of accounting students with a GPA <3.50 different from the perceptions of accounting students with GPA 3.50 to the code of ethics of the Indonesian accountant association. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there are differences in perceptions between male and female students and whether there are differences in perceptions between accounting students with a GPA <3.50 and accounting students with a GPA of 3.50 on the Indonesian accountant association code of ethics. The type of research used is comparative. The data used are primary. The sample in this study was purposive sampling from the 2017 regular accounting students who took accounting examinations at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang, amounting to 123 people. The data collection technique is a questionnaire. The data analysis method in this research is quantitative. The results show a significant difference between male and female students' perceptions of the accountant's code of ethics. And also, there is a significant difference between students' perceptions with GPA <3.50 and students with a GPA 3.50 on accountants' code of ethics.   Keywords: Perception, Accounting Students, of Ethics of the Indonesian Code Institute of Accountants.
