Abstract
The use of plastic in Indonesia continues to increase from time to time, causing the amount of waste to also increase. One of the serious problems faced today is the accumulation of plastic waste which reaches 3.22 million tons per year, which cannot be managed properly. In this paper, the authors utilize PET plastic waste as a partial replacement for fine aggregate in concrete. The aim to be achieved is to determine the compressive strength of normal concrete in the presence of partial replacement of fine aggregate from plastic (PET), against the compressive strength of K-225 concrete. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal effect of partial replacement of fine aggregate from plastic (PET) for the manufacture of K-225 concrete. From the results of testing the compressive strength of concrete at the age of 28 days with a variation of 0% normal concrete, normal concrete + 1% PET fine aggregate, normal concrete + 2% PET fine aggregate, normal concrete + 3% PET fine aggregate, normal concrete + 4% aggregate fine PET, normal concrete + 5% PET fine aggregate, the variation of normal concrete + 3% fine aggregate PET has the highest characteristic value of 246.644 kg/cm2, while the variation of normal concrete mixture + 5% PET fine aggregate has the lowest characteristic value of 213.786 kg/cm2.
