Abstract

The New Building for Education Services at the Department of Nutrition, Poltekkes Palembang, is located on Jl. Sukabangun 1 No. 1159 Likes to Wake, Kec. Sukarami, Palembang City which consists of 6 floors with a building area of 3,954.6 m^2 which has different functions and facilities for lectures. One of the facilities available in the Nutrition Department building for convenience during the lecture process from the danger of fire has provided a Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR), a hydrant system and a sprinkler in an effort to realize security, prevention, and fire prevention measures. The analysis carried out includes analysis of water requirements for hydrant boxes, hydrant pillars, and sprinklers, as well as pump capacity for water distribution. From the results of the analysis, data on the water demand for the maximum hydrant box is 72 m^3, the maximum hydrant pillar is 324 m^3, the maximum sprinkler is 281.4 m^3 and the calculation of the pump capacity is 43,274 hp for water power ( maximum and 61,820 hp for maximum shaft power (P).
