Abstract

ABSTRACT The use of Fly Ash material as a concrete-forming material is based on the properties of this material which are similar to the properties of cement. This research is based on several studies that also use Fly Ash and Sikacim. From previous research, it was found that the optimum compressive strength at a variation of 12.5% using Fly Ash was 39.61 MPa and in another study, the optimum compressive strength value was obtained with the use of 0.5% Sikacim at 35.01 MPa. This research was designed using Fly Ash and Sikacim as a substitute for cement in the concrete mixture. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using fly ash as a substitute for cement on the compressive strength of concrete. The percentage of Fly Ash used varies, ranging from 12%, 13%, 14%, 15% and 16%, and Sikacim 0.5%. The planned concrete quality is F'c 33 MPa. Concrete will be tested at the age of 3, 7, and 28 days. This study used 54 cube�shaped specimens where for each variation as many as 3 specimens. From the research results, it was found that the use of 15% Fly Ash and 0.5% Sikacim gave the optimum value with a compressive strength value of 43.04 MPa at the age of 28 days. The use of 16% Fly Ash and 0.5% Sikacim produced concrete with the lowest strength with a value of 40.96 MPa, at the age of 28 days. It can be concluded that the greater the percentage of use of Fly Ash in the concrete mixture, the lower the strength of the concrete will be. Kata Kunci :Beton, fly ash dan sikacim.
