Abstract

concrete is the result of mixing cement, water, and aggregate. Sometimes added using added ingredients. Hazardous waste carbide is a product of acetylene carbide gas production made by a very simple process. Where there is a reaction between calcium carbide (CaC2) with H2O water to produce acetylene gas (C2H2) and calcium hydroxide Ca (OH) 2 . The sample of this research is in the form of a cylinder measuring D = 15cm, T = 30cm, normal quality fc '25 concrete with cement that will be substituted with 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% carbide waste. Each variation consists of 5 samples, will be tested at the age of 28 days with a design compressive strength of 25 Mpa After testing the use of carbide waste as a substitute for cement obtained an average concrete compressive strength of 25.6 For BN Cement 100% + 0% Carbide Waste (BN0), 22.2 Mpa For BN Cement 95% + 5% Carbide Waste (BN5), 18.1 Mpa For BN Cement 90% + 10% Carbide Waste (BN10), 13.5 Mpa. For BN Cement 85% + 15% Carbide Waste (BN15).
