Abstract

In this study the authors used latex (rubber latex) as an additive to the Laston AC-WC. This study aims to determine the effect on the optimum laston characteristics. After 28 days of age, all samples were tested with the total number of test objects used in this study as many as 12 samples with 4 mixed variations. The results are known: Stability has increased by 28.8%, which means that the level of stability or strength is increasing, Flow has increased by 11.1%, which means that the level of flexibility is greater and the Marshall quotient has increased by 16%, the mixture of the pavement layer will be getting stiff. The optimum asphalt content for each mixture was 5.90%. From the test results, the optimum addition of rubber latex that can be used in the mixture is 7% of the weight of asphalt with a KAO value of 5.90%. The variation of 7% rubber latex has the highest stability and the lowest VIM value, the high stability value indicates the strength level of the laston AC-WC binder layer on its ability to accept loads. Keywords: Getah karet (Lateks), Laston AC-WC. Flow
