Abstract

HUSNI WIJAYA, the effect of providing organic vermicompost fertilizer and KCI fertilizer on the growth and production of sweet corn(Zea mays saccharata sturt) (guided by . IIN SITI AMINAHand SYAFRULLAH). This study aims to determine and obtain the effect of organic vermicompost fertilizer and KCI fertilizer on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt). This research was conducted in one of the land owned by PT. Indonesian Trading Company on Jl. H. M. Asyik Aqil RT. 49, RW. 17 Kelurahan Sukajadi, KM 16, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The research period is from May to August 2019. The design used was a Factorial Randomized Block Design with 9 treatment combinations that were repeated 3 times and 5 sample plants. The factors studied included the application of Vermicompost Organic Fertilizer (V) consisting of: V1 = 1.5 tons / ha (0.9 kg / plot), V2 = 3 tons / ha (1.8 kg / plot), V3 = 4 , 5 tons / ha (2.7 kg / plot) and KCI (K) consisting: K1 = 150 kg / ha (90 g / plot), K2 = 300 kg / ha (180 g / plot), K3 = 450 kg / ha (270 g / plot). The variables observed in this study were Plant Height (cm), Number of Leaves (strands), Cob Length (cm), Cob Diameter (cm) Planting Cob Weight (g), and Percent Cob Weight (kg). Based on the results of the study showed that, giving vermicompost fertilizer 3 tons / ha (1.8 kg / plot) gave the best results on the weight variables of cobs per plot. The application of KCI 300 kg / ha (180 g / plot) provides the best results on the growth and production of sweet corn. By tabulation the combination treatment of vermicompost fertilizer 3 tons / ha and KCI 300 kg / ha gave the highest yield of cob weight per plot of sweet corn at 5.53 kg / plot.
