Abstract

ABSTRACT EFFECT OF ADDITION OF FLY ASH AND GLASS POWDER FOR A STRONG PRESS CONCRETE K-300 (Fajriyansyah Erfanda, Faculty of Engineering Muhammadiyah University Palembang, 85 pages) Background. In this study the authors took fly ash and glass powder as an added ingredient in a concrete mixture. This study intends to determine the effect of the use of fly ash and glass powder on the compressive strength of K-300 concrete. Method. This study uses a cube shaped test object with a size of 15x15x15. The total number of test specimens in this study were 45 samples, each 9 samples in 5 variations namely normal concrete, normal concrete + fly ash 14% + glass powder 18%, normal concrete + fly ash 15% + glass powder 18% , normal concrete + fly ash 16% + glass powder 18% and normal concrete + fly ash 17% + glass powder 18%. Results. After the concrete compressive strength test, the characteristic concrete compressive strength on the addition of fly ash 14% and glass powder 18% obtained the maximum compressive strength value of 180, 55 Kg/Cm2 at 3 days, 252.59 Kg/Cm2 at 14 days, and 355.30 Kg/Cm2 at 28 days. These results exceed the compressive strength values of normal concrete and show that fly ash and glass powder increase the compressive strength of concrete. Conclusion. There was a strong influence from the influence of fly ash and glass powder with variations in the addition and age of certain concrete.
