Abstract

In this study the authors took Naphtalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde as an added ingredient in concrete mixtures. This study intends to determine the effect of the addition of the addictive material Naphtalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde to the compressive strength of concrete fc 41.50 MPa. This researcher uses a cube shaped test object with a size of 15x15x15 cm. The total number of test specimens in this study were 36 samples, each 9 specimens under 4 conditions namely Normal Concrete, Normal Concrete + Naphtalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde 3.5%, Normal Concrete + Naphtalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde 4%, Normal Concrete + Naphtalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde 4.5%. After testing the strength of concrete, the compressive strength of concrete at 7, 14, and 28 days with normal conditions at 7 days 331.3 kg / cm2, at 14 days 437.7 kg / cm2, at 28 days 502.5 kg / cm2. And the strength value of tean concrete characteristic with the use of Naphtalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde 3.5% has the highest characteristic compressive strength at 7 days 346 kg / cm2, at 14 days 458.1 kg / cm2, at 28 days 516.9 kg / Cm2. These results exceed the concrete compressive strength characteristics of normal concrete and show that Naphtalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde increases the compressive strength of concrete.
