Abstract

has been carried out to determine the effect of the use of absorbent-activated natural zeolite (adsorbent) in the process of making used cooking oil-based biodiesel. Making biodiesel using used cooking oil using standard procedures. To see the effect of sample activated zeolites given several different treatments of TZ (Tampa Zeolite) treatment. Biodiesel (Tampa Activation) which uses natural zeolite as an adsorbent but without activation, biodiesel A1 100 which uses natural zeolite which has been activated for one hour at a temperature of 100 ° C, and biodiesel A2 100, A1 150, A2 15, A1 200, A2 20. All samples are parameterized using physical properties tests, namely relative density, kinematic viscosity, density and corrosion test on copper plates according to ASTM standards and Director General of Oil and Gas. The results showed that natural zeolite which has been activated physically proved to be able to improve the quality of biodiesel from used cooking oil. Biodiesel that meets the standards for all tests is A2 150, A1 200 an A2 200. This study aims to find the composition of concrete mixtures with additional natural zeolite ingredients which produce optimum compressive strength. Tests carried out in the form of compressive strength test. The composition of the addition of zeolite is 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%. The test object used for testing compressive strength is a cube with a size of 15x15x15 at age 3.7, 28 days. From the results of the study of concrete compressive strength, the optimum zeolite content was not obtained at 8% with compressive strength of 383.82 kg/ cm2 at 28 days. It can be concluded that the addition of good natural zeolite is used as cement substitution material in concrete.
