Abstract

Concrete is one of the civil works construction materials that play an important role in construction such as houses, buildings, roads, bridges, dams, ports and others. Concrete k-400 is one type of pre-stressed concrete, namely for the benefit of construction that has a special, high-strength concrete is usually used for the manufacture of highways, suspension bridges and underpasses. The ashes from the brick kiln are waste that can be used as an added material, where the ash contains silica which can be mixed in the concrete mixture. The ash was tested in the BARISTAND INDUSTRIAL PALEMBANG laboratory which obtained 7.69 silica results. So the ashes from the brick kiln can be used in concrete mixes. From the results of research conducted in the laboratory, it was found that the average compressive strength test at the age of 28 days with the variation of Normal Concrete was 427.76 kg / cm2, Normal Concrete + ash of 4% brick combustion by 408.24 kg / cm2. Normal concrete + ash 5% brick kiln remaining 396.42 kg / cm2, Normal concrete + 6% brick kiln remaining ash by 382.97 kg / cm2, Normal concrete + 7% brick kiln remaining ash by 363.06 kg / cm2, Concrete normal + ash of brick combustion 8% by 347.99 kg / cm2, where the results have decreased from normal concrete so that the ashes of brick combustion does not affect the compressive strength of concrete. Keywords: K-400 Concrete, brick ash combustion, addition effect
