Abstract

The use of coal as a source of electricity for both the industry and power plants is increasing. The use of coal produces solid waste in the form of fly ash and bottom ash as a result ofcombustion processes that have an impact on environmental pollution. PT SEMEN BATU RAJA is one of the producers of fly ash and bottom ash waste. Fly ash and bottom ash have great potential can be used as an additional material in the manufacture of concrete. This study aims to find the composition of concrete mixtures with additional materials of fly ash and glass powder which produce optimum compressive strength. Tests carried out in the form of compressive strength test. The composition of the addition of 18% glass powder and the addition of fly ash as much as 7%, 9%, 11%, and 13%. The test object used for testing compressive strength is a cube with a size of 15x15x15 at the age of 3.7, 28 days. From the results of the research the concrete compressive strength has not been obtained optimum fly ash levels at 13% use with compressive strength of 383.82 kg / cm2 at the age of 28. It can be concluded that glass powder and fly ash are both used as additives in concrete. Keywords: fly ash, glass powder, compressive strength
