Abstract

Abstract Food and beverage security is a necessity of society, because safe food and drinks will protect and prevent the occurrence of diseases or other health problems. Increasing public demand for food and beverages provided by companies or individuals engaged in the business of providing food and beverages for the public interest, health and safety must be guaranteed. Good and correct food and beverage processing will produce food, drinks that are clean, healthy, safe, and useful and durable. This study aims to determine the level of hygiene and sanitation of snack drinks at schools in the Muhammadiyah University of Palembang, and to determine the level of Escherichia coli contaminants in school snacks drinks in the Muhammadiyah University of Palembang. From April to September 2018. The research metodh used is the survey method using a cross sectional approach. For the sampling method used in this study was purposive sampling. Data collection methods used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The data processing method used in this study is tabulation. The results of the study can be concluded that from all hawker beverage traders on workers hygiene and sanitation variables, it was found that 33.33% of traders did not meet the standards while the variable of hygiene and sanitation equipment, hygiene and sanitationwere the serving, as well as hygiene and sanitation facilities found that the hawker drink merchant meets the standards.
