Abstract

Slope stability is a crucial aspect in Geotechnical planning to ensure construction safety, particulary on embankment slopes in drilling areas prone to landslides. This study aims to analyze the existing slope stability and to determine the effectiveness of using Non – Wocen Geotextiles, Triaxial Geogrids, and combination of both in increasing the Safety Factor and reducing slope failure The analysis was conducted using the Limit Equilbrium Method and the Finite Element Method using Plaxis 2D software with the Mohr – Coloumb and Hardening Soil constitutive models. Geotechnical parameters were obtained from the results of the Standard Penetration Test ( N-SPT) AND Laboratory testing which included soil unit weight, cohesion, internal friction angle, and other soil parameter and mechanical notations. The analysis results indicate that the use of geosynthetic materials increases the factor of Safety and reduces slope deformation compared to unreinforced conditions. Soil parameters used in the analysis were derived from correlations of N-SPT and borehole data to represent actual field soil conditions. Based on Finite Element Method analysis, a combination of Non – Wocen Geotextiles and Triaxial Geogrids yielded the most5 optimal performance in enhancing slope stability and minimizing deformation. The results also demonstrate that reinforcement improves the slope’s capacity to resist driving forces, evidenced by a higher factor of safety and more controlled deformation distribution.
