Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik fisik dan mekanis tanah dasar (subgrade) pada ruas Jalan Penghubung Desa Penyandingan–Desa Sugihan, Kecamatan Muaradua Kisam, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan. Penelitian dilakukan melalui survei lapangan, pengambilan sampel tanah, dan pengujian laboratorium yang meliputi kadar air, berat jenis, berat isi, analisis saringan, batas Atterberg, Standard Proctor, serta California Bearing Ratio (CBR) pada kondisi soaked dan unsoaked. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI), klasifikasi AASHTO, dan USCS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanah memiliki kadar air alami 24,528%, berat jenis 2,647, batas cair 37,070%, batas plastis 36,658%, dan indeks plastisitas 0,412%. Berdasarkan analisis saringan, tanah diklasifikasikan sebagai A-2-4 kerikil dan pasir yang berlanau atau berlempun menurut AASHTO dan SM (Pasir berlanau campuran pasir-lanau) menurut USCS. Hasil Standard Proctor menunjukkan kadar air optimum (OMC) sebesar 15,053% dan kepadatan kering maksimum (MDD) sebesar 1,390 gr/cm³. Nilai CBR unsoaked sebesar 18%, sedangkan CBR soaked sebesar 7,30%, yang menunjukkan bahwa kondisi jenuh air menurunkan daya dukung tanah dasar. Oleh karena itu, pengendalian kadar air melalui penyediaan dan pemeliharaan sistem drainase direkomendasikan untuk menjaga kestabilan dan daya dukung tanah dasar. This study aims to analyze the physical and mechanical characteristics of the subgrade on the connecting road between Penyandingan Village and Sugihan Village, Muaradua Kisam District, South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The research was conducted through field surveys, soil sampling, and laboratory testing, including water content, specific gravity, bulk density, sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, Standard Proctor compaction, and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests under both soaked and unsoaked conditions. The test results were analyzed descriptively based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), the AASHTO and USCS soil classification systems.The results showed that the soil had a natural water content of 24.528%, a specific gravity of 2.647, a liquid limit of 37.070%, a plastic limit of 36.658%, and a plasticity index of 0.412%. Based on the sieve analysis, the soil was classified as A-2-4 according to the AASHTO classification system and ML according to the USCS classification system. The Standard Proctor test indicated an optimum moisture content (OMC) of 15.053% and a maximum dry density (MDD) of 1.390 g/cm³. The unsoaked CBR value was 18%, while the soaked CBR value was 7.30%, indicating that saturated conditions reduce the bearing capacity of the subgrade. Therefore, controlling soil moisture through the provision and maintenance of an effective drainage system is recommended to maintain the stability and bearing capacity of the subgrade.
