Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of adding glass waste and Fly Ash as filler materials on the characteristics of AC-WC asphalt mixtures at high temperatures and to determine the optimum content that meets technical specifications. The method used in this research is an experimental method by conducting direct laboratory tests on asphalt mixture specimens. The variation of Fly Ash content used was 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%, with glass waste powder used as filler. The testing was carried out using the Marshall method to obtain parameters such as stability, flow, VIM, VFB, and Marshall Quotient. The results showed that the addition of glass waste and Fly Ash affects the physical and mechanical characteristics of the asphalt mixture. In general, all variations still met the specifications; however, at 6% content, there was an increase in voids that did not meet the standard. The optimum content was found at 4%, as it provided a balance between stability, flexibility, and air void characteristics in the mixture. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the use of glass waste as a filler material in AC-WC asphalt mixtures can improve the quality of the mixture, especially in terms of Marshall stability, and has the potential to be an environmentally friendly alternative filler.
