Abstract

The development of land cover changes that occur can be identified using remote sensing technology and geographic information systems (GIS). This is because remote sensing has the ability to provide complete, fast and relatively accurate information, and can facilitate fieldwork and relatively inexpensive costs. By utilizing a Geographic Information System (GIS), it will be easier to analyze changes in land cover and land use. This research was conducted to analyze changes in land cover based on GIS from 2018-2021 and the current condition of land cover based on field survey results. The research method used is quantitative. The data collection method used was observing tree species, diameter and tree height and counting the number of each tree species from the vegetation structure (seedlings, saplings, poles, trees). The results of the study, the interpretation of land cover using Landsat imagery for 2018-2022 both digitally and visually consists of 2 land covers, namely dry land agriculture mixed with shrubs/mixed gardens and shrubs. In Shrub/Grubber land cover, the highest value was found for the Gelam species (Melaleuca leucadendra) with an IVI of 147.87%, Density (K) 714.28, Frequency (F) 0.66 and the lowest value was found for the Jelutung species (Dyera costulata) with an IVI of 13.33%, Density (K) 28.57, Frequency (F) 0.16. Species diversity in shrub land cover is 1.34. In the land cover of dry land agriculture mixed with bushes/mixed gardens, the highest value was found in the Rubber species (Hevea brasiliensis) with an IVI of 217.95%, Density (K) 100, Frequency (F) 1 and the lowest IVI was in the Jengkol species (Archidendron pauciflorum ) with a value of 9.87%, Density (K) 7.14 , Frequency (F) 0.12. The value of species diversity in shrub land cover is 1.56.
