Abstract

In this study, the authors took Carbide Welding Waste and Superplasticizer Addictive Substances as cement replacement materials. In this study will identify the effect of Karbit Welding Waste and Superplasticizer Addictive Substance as a partial replacement material for cement in concrete. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and use of Karbit Welding Waste and Superplasticizer Addictive Substance as a cement substitute on the compressive strength of concrete. The percentage of Carbide Welding Waste and Superplasticizer used varies, starting from 10% Carbide Welding Waste and 1%, 2%, 3% Superplasticizer concrete testing will be carried out after the concrete is 3 days old, 7 days, 28 days. This study used cube-shaped samples (15cm x 15cm x 15 cm), and as many as 36 test objects where for each variation as many as 3 test objects. From laboratory research, the compressive strength of concrete at the age of 28 days with normal concrete conditions is 25.15 Mpa at the age of 28 days, the highest concrete strength value in Normal Concrete + 10% carbide welding waste + 3% Superplasticizer is 35.54 Mpa with a percentage increase of 41.41% against Normal Concrete. After conducting research it can be concluded that, with the use of 10% Carbide Welding Waste + 1-3% Superplasticizer can increase the compressive strength of concrete.
