Abstract

DERTA INDIRA PRAMESWARI Ethnobotany of the Buay Pemaca Society of South Oku Regency (supervised by ASVIC HELIDA and DELFY LENSARI). Ethnobotany is a sub-discipline of science that is useful for understanding the relationship between humans and the natural surroundings. This research aims to reveal the value/category of knowledge-based use of plants based on the type of use in Durian Sembilan, Sumber Ringin and Sidodadi Villages as well as analyzing the Important Value of Plant Culture ( Index of Cultural Significance) for strategies for utilization and management of plant resources. The method used in this research is Qualitative Descriptive to seek information from the people of Buay Pemaca District. The results of the research show that the highest similarity index for plant species is found in Sidodadi Village and Sumber Ringin Village at 75.40%, the second highest similarity index is found in Durian Sembilan Village and Sumber Ringin Village at 56.71% and the plant species in Durian Sembilan Village with Sidodadi Village having the lowest similarity index of 54.05%. The plant/crop similarity index in the three villages in Buai Pemaca District is 48.68%. Based on the plant parts used by the people of Durian Sembilan Village, Sidodadi Village and Sumber Ringin Village, it shows that the plant parts that are most often used or have the highest utilization are fruit with 35 species (46.05%), leaves with 12 species (15, 79%), stems 11 species (14.47%), seeds 5 species (6.58%), fruit and leaves 5 species(6.58%), rhizomes 4 species(5.26%), tubers 3 species ( 3.95%) and the lowest plant utilization was flowers of 1 species (1.31%). The results of calculating the cultural importance of plants from the three research locations show that coffee (Coffea Arabica L.) and rice (Oryza sativa L.) are plants that have been cultivated by the community and have the highest ICS, namely 80 each.
