Abstract

HANDONO, Burai Village Ecotourism Development Strategy, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency South Sumatera Province. (Supervised by ASVIC HELIDA and HERIPAN). Ecosystem is nature-based tourism which involves education on the interpretation of the environment and is managed in a sustainable manner. The existence of an ecosystem in an area affects the life of the community around the area. This study aims to analyze the potential of ecotourism and analyze the inhibiting factors (internal and external) in the development of ecotourism in Burai Village and to develop a strategic plan for ecotourism development in Burai Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Analysis of research data used the SWOT Matrix to analyze the potential for ecotourism development in Burai Village.The research results obtained were positive internal (S = 2.90 and W = 0.70) and external (O = 2.62 and T = 0.71) factors, meaning that the strength of Burai Village ecotourism is superior to its weaknesses and opportunities bigger than the threat. The development strategy for Burai Village Ecotourism in Ogan Ilir Regency uses a Rapid Growth Strategy or a fast growth strategy. The strategy is carried out quickly and thoroughly according to the target with current conditions and prioritizes all strength factors and opportunity factors that are owned in order to achieve an increase in tourist visits which continue to increase every year. Views of colorful houses and typical natural panoramas along the river are beautiful during tours of the waters of the Kelekar River, maintenance of existing facilities and infrastructure and construction of other supporting facilities. Based on the comparison and combination of strengths (Strengths), Weaknesses (Weaknesses), Opportunities (Opportunities) and Threats (Threats) obtained 19 priority patterns of Burai Village Ecotourism development strategy
