Abstract

AGNES NURUL AINI. Pest Attack on Eucalyptus Plants (Eucalyptus pellita F.Muel) PT Musi Hutan Persada (supervised by YULI ROSIANTY and DELFY LENSARI). HTI is a plantation forest that was developed in order to increase the potential and quality of production forest by applying intensive silviculture to meet the raw material needs of the forest product industry, Eucalyptus pellita is one of the priority types developed in the management of HTI which is processed as fiber wood. The type of plant chosen was pulp forest plantations, which are fast-growing, high-yielding, short-leaved and have the (chemical and physical) properties of wood in accordance with the raw material requirements of the pulp industry. This research was conducted to determine the symptoms of pest attacks, the percentage of pest attacks and the level of damage caused by pests. The research method used is quantitative. The data collection method used is the transect method by observing attacks on each plant. The results of the study, the symptoms of attack found were perforated leaves and cut edges or bite marks from pests, punctures on leaves which caused the leaves to dry, symptoms of the last attack were broken bases of plants, holes in plants, swelling on stems and residual dirt. due to pests, the percentage of attacks due to leaf roller pests from 0.0048% to 0.0030%. The percentage of attacks due to shoot-sucking pests increased from 0.0090% to 0.0089%, while the percentage of attacks due to stem borer pests at the age of 6 months from 0.0012% to 0.0020%, at 16 months from 0.0228% to 0. 0277% and at the age of 26 months from 0.0496% to 0.0580%, the level of damage to plants due to leaf roller pests from 0.0012% to 0.0007%, the level of damage due to shoot-sucking pests from 0.0023% to 0 .0022%, while the level of damage caused by stem borer at the age of 6 months from 0.0002% to 0.0004%, at the age of 16 months from 0.0061% to 0.0071%, and at the age of 26 months from 0.0022%. .0069% to 0.0076%
