Abstract

The textile industry is one of the industries that has highly contaminated waste and requires special attention in handling. One of the industries that produces liquid waste is the jumputan textile industry. The textile industry produces liquid waste that is harmful to the environment. The liquid waste still contains materials that cannot be neutralized naturally in the soil or sewers. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out the treatment of jumputan liquid waste. An alternative to jumputan liquid waste treatment is advanced oxidation. One of the advanced oxidation methods is the photocatalysis process. This study aims to determine the efficiency of liquid waste treatment with the photocatalysis method based on the processing time, catalyst mass, and wattage of the lamp used. The photocatalysis method is carried out with 1 liter of liquid waste, time variations of 3, 5, and 7 hours. Using a mass ratio of TiO 2 of 1.5 grams and 2.5 grams and UV lamps of 24 watts and 32 watts. The results of this study obtained the efficiency of color processing, and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa bacteria in liquid waste produced using a photocatalysis process of 15 TCU Scales each, and negative bacteria at a ratio of 2.5 grams of TiO 2 molar ratio and 3 hours contact time.
