Abstract

Karang Waru Village, Lawang Wetan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency has a paddy field with an area of 248 Ha. and most of the population work as farmers. Karang Waru Village has a large area of land which is good for farming, especially rice. Rainfed rice fields have the function of being able to accommodate or support stagnant water when it rains or during the rainy season, so that these rice fields are only used in certain periods based on the rainy season. The empirical formula calculation that is suitable in the Indonesian region is the mock method to obtain reliable debits and to calculate water demand and availability. The water requirement for rainfed rice fields in Karang waru village in the first planting season (June - October) is an average of 0.22 m/s. in the second planting season (november - march) the average is 0.20 m/s. the availability of water for rainfed rice fields in Karang waru village is still insufficient. can be seen from the average availability. in the first growing season (June-October) the average is 0.02 m3/s and in the second growing season (November-March) the average is 0.06 m3/s
