Abstract

ABSTRACT Tanjung Ali Village is one of the villages in Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency where most of the residents work as farmers. The area of paddy fields in the village of Tanjung Ali is around 450 hectares and the irrigation system is influenced by tidal rivers which consist of primary and secondary channels. From the observations of researchers in the rice fields of Tanjung Ali Village, in several seasons the rice fields experience excess water, causing the function of paddy fields as a medium for regulating the water system has not been utilized optimally. Therefore, the researcher is interested in conducting research with the title "Analysis of Tidal Rice Field Irrigation Systems in Tanjung Ali Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency" From the results of measuring the cross-sectional area and flow velocity, the channel length when the water level rises (tide) is 125 m or 0.125 km. And the water discharge in the secondary (collection) channel reaches a minimum value at low tide of 0.50 m3/s, the maximum discharge at high tide is 0.87 m3/s, while the average capacity that can be accommodated by the channel is only of 0.37 m3/sec. This means that from the results of these calculations, the discharge of water that enters the canal is greater than the discharge of water that comes out of the canal, so that the canal in the rice field area is overflowing and cannot hold water during high tide.
