Abstract

This study focuses on reviewing the planning for installing sheet pile concrete on the Sekakan River. The purpose of this study is to re-evaluate the value of the safety factor for retaining walls in the Sekanak River Basin based on an analysis using empirical methods. The research location was carried out in the Sekanak river flow, Palembang, South Sumatra, using variations of sheet pile profiles W-600-B-1000, W-600-A-1000, W-500-B-1000, W-500-A-1000, W- 450-A-1000, W-400-B-1000, W-400-A-1000, W-350-B-1000, W-350-A-1000, W-325-B-1000, W-325- A-1000, W-300-1000. With a length of 12 meters. The results of calculations using the Rankine method show that the required sheet pile penetration is 11.9 m with the maximum moment received by the sheet pile is 9,710 tons. As well as variations of plaster that can be used are W 600-B 1000 with a recommended length of 15 m, W 600-A 1000 with a recommended length of 15 m, W 500-B 1000 with a recommended length of 13 m, W 500-A 1000 with a recommended length of recommended length 13 m, W 450-A 1000 recommended length 12 m, W 400-B 1000 recommended length 12 m, W 400-A 1000 recommended length 12 m, W 350-B 1000 recommended length 12 m, W 350-A 1000 with a recommended length of 12 m, W 323-B 1000 with a recommended length of 8 m, W 325-A 1000 with a recommended length of 8 m. And there are three choices of sheet pile profile variations that cannot be used based on the standard table of sheet pile profile specifications, namely W 323-B 1000 because they do not meet the Safe factor permit, W 325-A 1000 because they do not meet the Safe factor permit, W 300 1000 because does not meet the Crack moment permission.
