Abstract

An intersection is a place of traffic conflict which is a meeting area of the highway network. At this point, it often creates various traffic obstacles because the intersection is a place where vehicles from various directions meet and change direction. The volume of traffic that can be accommodated by the network is determined by the capacity of the road network. By decreasing the performance of the intersection, it will cause various losses for road users due to a decrease in speed, increased delays, and vehicle queues which result in increased vehicle operating costs. The Bakaran Intersection is the meeting point of the Pertamina - Talang Jimar road with the Basuki Rahmat road to the Prabumulih - Baturaja Cross road. The stages in the research include literature study, preparatory work includes data collection in the form of primary and secondary data, data collection in the form of conducting a survey, then the data obtained is processed by referring to the 1997 MKJI guidelines (Indonesian Road Capacity Manual), analyzing the results of the calculation of the capacity value. In fact, the value of the degree of saturation, intersection traffic delays, main traffic delays, intersection geometric delays, intersection delays, and queuing probabilities, finally a conclusion is obtained. From the results of research and discussion at the Simpang Tiga Bakaran Jl. Basuki Rahmat – Jl. Pertamina – Talang Jimar obtained an average approach width (FW) of 0.925 meters, total traffic flow volume (Qtot) 1708 pcu/hour, actual capacity (C) 2021,9 pcu/hour, the value of the degree of saturation (DS) 0.844 , Intersection Traffic Delay (Dti) smp/hour, Main Traffic Delay (DTMA) sec/smp, Intersection geometric delay (DG) 4 sec/smp, Intersection delay (D) 11, sec/smp and queue opportunities ( QP) the upper limit is 70.35% and the lower limit is 31.183%. Based on research and discussion on the performance of Simpang Tiga Bakaran, it has a service level of B. Keywords: Unsignalized Intersection Capacity, Degree of Saturation, Delay, MKJI 1997.
