Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the motivation of Edi Herman Jaya to build a porang garden in Lecah Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency and the feasibility of porang farming in Lecah Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency. This research was conducted in Lecah Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency from April to May 2022. The research method used was a case study method (case study) with a qualitative approach. The sampling method used was purposive sampling (deliberately) where in this study there was 1 respondent, namely Edi Herman Jaya who became a porang farmer. Data collection methods used in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. The data processing method used in this study was carried out with 3 stages of data (editing), data coding (coding) and tabulating (tabulating). The results showed that Edi Herman Jaya's motivation to build a porang garden in Lecah Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency can be seen based on internal and external factors. Internal factors that come from within the individual as seen from the goals, expectations, beliefs and desires while external factors are those that come from outside the individual as seen from the type and nature of work, the environmental situation in general and the imbalance system received. Then the level of porang farming in Lecah Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim R/C of 2,37
