Abstract

Captain Marzuki Street, Kelurahan 20 Ilir D.III, Ilir Timur I District, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province is a lowland flanked by two hills. With the lowest elevation of 2.92 masl and the highest elevation of 8.70 masl. This area often experiences high levels of flooding. This can occur due to existing drainage problems in the area, due to the lack of awareness of the surrounding community on the condition of the channel. Floods in the drainage channel on Captain Marzuki Street, to be precise in front of Tridinanti University Palembang, Kelurahan 20 Ilir D.III, Ilir Timur I District, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province often occur during the rainy season because water is not accommodated in the drainage channel, which is caused by overflowing. water due to the flow to the final shelter has problems at several points, such as garbage that accumulates in the canal, this often happens because the channel in the area around Captain Marzuki Street is rarely normalized. From the results of the analysis of factors causing flooding in the drainage channel that occurred on Captain Marzuki Street, precisely in front of Tridinanti University Palembang, kelurahan 20 Ilir D.III, Ilir Timur I District, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province. Floods that occurred in this area were caused by several factors, including: garbage that had accumulated at several points of the channel such as primary channel culverts, wild plants growing in the channel, poor channel roughness, and the dimensions of the channel that were unable to accommodate the high water discharge. into the channel so that it needs to be re-planned
