Abstract

The increase in coconut production in Banyuasin Regency every year causes the use of coconut to increase in line with the increase in waste (remaining processing) from households or industries in the form of coconut shells. If the coconut shell is thrown away and burned without being used optimally, it will become waste that accumulates and has the potential to pollute the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of adding coconut shell ash to the compressive strength of concrete Fc’ 25 Mpa. This research method uses an experimental method, namely the manufacture of concrete specimens using cylindrical molds with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm by applying coconut shell waste as a mixture with a mix design ratio of 0%, 2%, 2.5% and 5% referring to mix design concrete with a quality of Fc' 25 MPa. The results of the test show that the effect of adding coconut shell ash to the weight of cement, namely the addition of 2% coconut shell ash variations obtained a compressive strength of 25.38 MPa, the addition of 2.5% coconut shell ash variations obtained a compressive strength of 25.73 MPa, the addition of Variation of 5% coconut shell ash obtained a compressive strength of 23.15 MPa.
