Abstract

ABSTRAK Pengolahan Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) menjadi Biogas dengan Sistem Anaerobik Tipe Batch tanpa Proses Netralisasi Oleh : Vini Tri Khaerani Dalam prosesnya, industri kelapa sawit menghasilkan beberapa jenis limbah , yang berupa limbah padat dan cair. Limbah cair industri kelapa sawit yang paling utama adalah Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). Limbah POME yang keluar dari proses pengolahan biasanya memiiliki suhu tinggi yaitu berkisar antara 70800C, dengan tingkat keasaman (pH) sekitar 4,56 – 4,98, COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) berkisar antara 57.000- 60.400 mg/ liter dan Total Suspended Solid (TSS) 0,23 – 5,44 g/L. Adapun tujuan mengadakan penelitian yaitu menghasilkan nilai parameter volume, dan CH4 dari campuran limbah POME dengan Kotoran sapi, kemudian untuk mengetahui proses dan cara kerja pengolahan Limbah POME sehingga bisa menjadi biogas. Sehingga dapat mengetahui penurunan kadar kandungan COD dan TSS. Hasil analisa COD dan TSS didapatkan penurunan nilai COD dan TSS terhadap volume biogas yang dihasilkan adalah pada waktu gas ke-40 hari dengan perbandingan 60%:40% yaitu yaitu COD 114 mg/L dan TSS 0,600 mg/L.Hasil analisa gas metan didapatkan kenaikan setiap 10 harinya selama 40 hari gas metan yang dihasilkan sebanyak 521.497 ppm (52%). .Analisa uji nyala api diketahui bahwa titik nyala api yang paling menyala sangat cepat dan berwarna biru yaitu pada hari ke -40 . Kata kunci: Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME), anaerobik, Batch, biogas, netralisasi ABSTRACT Processing Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) into Biogas with Batch Type Anaerobic System without Neutralization Process By : Vini Tri Khaerani In process, the palm oil industry produces several types of waste, in the form of solid and liquid waste. The most important liquid waste from the palm oil industry is Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). POME waste that comes out of the treatment process usually has a high temperature, which is around 70-800C, with an acidity (pH) of around 4.56 – 4.98, COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) ranging from 57,000-60,400 mg/liter and Total Suspended Solid ( TSS) 0.23 – 5.44 g/L. The purpose of conducting research is to produce volume parameter values, and CH4 from a mixture of POME waste with cow dung, then to find out the process and workings of processing POME waste so that it can become biogas. So that it can determine the decrease in the levels of COD and TSS content. The results of COD and TSS analysis showed a decrease in the value of COD and TSS to the volume of biogas produced at the 40th day of gas with a ratio of 60%: 40%, namely COD 114 mg/L and TSS 0.600 mg/L. The results of methane gas analysis were obtained increase every 10 days for 40 days of methane gas produced as much as 521,497 ppm (52%). .Analysis of the flame test is known that the flash point is the most rapidly burning and is blue in color, namely on the -40th day.
