Abstract

ABSTRACT In the city of Palembang, especially the wide reed area, some people use the company of drinking water area (PDAM) Tirta Musi Palembang Booster Alang-Alang Lebar as a service to meet the needs of clean water. In dealing with the distribution of clean water, of course, there are many obstacles faced. For this study, the authors analyzed the energy loss factor in the distribution network of clean water pipes from The Wide Reed Booster to the Flower Garden Storage Area. Energy loss can be caused by several factors such as pipe length, friction coefficient on the pipe, turn on the pipe, cross-sectional change in the pipe. Based on the results of the analysis and calculation, total energy loss due to bends in the pipe (hb), energy loss due to friction in the pipe (hf), energy loss due to cross-sectional reduction (hm), the largest value is found in the pipe section C to C1 of 0.6771 meters , in the pipe with a diameter of 4 inches, with a speed of 0.57051 meters/second, while the lowest total energy loss is found in the G to I section of 0.0000005 meters, in a pipe with a diameter of 24 inches, with a speed of 0.42373 meters/second. In the value of energy loss due to the difference in height or elevation, the greatest pressure is at point O towards A of 46282.74 kg/m2. While the lowest pressure is at point J to K at 31850.901 kg/m2.
