Abstract

ABSTRACT Because the implementation of development in Indonesia is very fast resulting in an increasing need for construction materials, there are a lot of natural resources that need to be utilized as an alternative for concrete mixtures for the compressive strength of concrete. In this study, the added material for the concrete mixture was banana stem ash. The purpose of this study was to determine the compressive strength of concrete with banana stem ash substitute and normal concrete for K-300 concrete at the age of 7, 14, 28 days. This study used a cube-shaped test object with a size of 15 x 15 x 15 cm with five variations and a total of forty five test objects. For every one variation of nine test objects, the five variations are normal concrete, banana stem ash substitute concrete 1.5%, 3%, 4.5%, and 6%. Tests were carried out at the age of 7, 14, 28 days with the planned concrete quality is K-300. Based on the results of research that has been carried out in the laboratory, the average compressive strength of the concrete variation of 6% banana stem ash substitution is 259.91 kg/cm², and the compressive strength of characteristic concrete is 252.61 kg/cm². This condition is the minimum condition with a decrease in the percentage of compressive strength of normal concrete by -14.85%. Keywords : Compressive Strength, Concrete, Banana Stem Ash
