Abstract

ABSTRACT Roads as part of the land transportation system have a very important role in supporting the socio-economic and cultural and environmental fields which are developed through the regional development approach in order to achieve a balance and equitable development between regions. on the road Sekayu - Mangunjaya km 127 + 350. When viewed from the topography in the area, Sekayu is an area showing the road is on the edge of a river with a fairly swift current. Landslides usually occur during the rainy season because rainwater will enter the soil and will cause the soil to become saturated, saturated soil has pore water pressure, due to long rains, the pore water pressure in the soil will rise, increasing pore water pressure causes soil shear strength. becomes small and in the end the land becomes unstable and prone to landslides. The potential for landslides has an effect on various things. One of the things affected is the vulnerability to roads. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion that has been carried out with the finite element method so that it is obtained that in all conditions of variation of gabions with a height of 6 m there are 6 layers and variations using geotextile, the largest and safest safety factor of all variations is in the third variation of tapered reinforcement added by piles. with a depth of 5 meters with a safety factor value of 2.7027 = 2.7 with a displacement value of 128.99 * 103m on the strengthening of the stake. So it is more advisable to use the third variation because the safety factor is safer. Keywords:Sekayu-Mangunjaya Strett Avalanche, Finite ElementMethod
